COURSE IN CLINICAL PHENOMENOLOGY. FROM THEORY TO PRACTICE – 3rd edition
The PhenoLab course in Clinical Phenomenology aims to provide mental health professionals and social workers with tools that allow them to engage with patients by prioritizing lived experience over mere symptom categorization.
In an era where mental health care risks becoming increasingly biologically grounded, phenomenology offers a powerful corrective lens. This approach illuminates the rich, subjective dimensions of psychological distress that standard diagnostic systems often overlook, enabling more profound therapeutic connections.
TEACHING METHODOLOGY
Each two-hour session combines lecture, case presentations, and discussion. Participants will engage with original texts, contemporary clinical applications, and have opportunities to practice phenomenological approaches through case discussions.
THE COURSE IS DESIGNED FOR:
- Mental
health professionals (psychiatrists, psychologists, psychotherapists)
- Psychiatric
nurses and social workers
- Researchers
in mental health fields
- Post
Graduate students in psychology, psychiatry, and philosophy
- Philosophical counsellors and consultants
- Anyone seeking to enrich their clinical practice with phenomenological insights
COURSE STRUCTURE
This 17-session journey progresses from philosophical
foundations to practical clinical applications. Beginning with core
phenomenological concepts, we'll explore how this approach transforms our
understanding of major mental health conditions and clinical practice.
