Abstract:
This webinar will focus on the role of emotions in bioethics and on the role of bioethics in emotional problems. In the webinar I will present the origin of bioethics and I will offer arguments for which I believe that bioethics should re-think the role of emotions in medical and technological choices. Moreover, I will show the extent of problems that emotional neglect has generated for the well-being of our society and environment.

 

Susi Ferrarello is assistant professor at California State University, East Bay. She gained her Ph.D. in Philosophy from the Sorbonne in Paris, a master in Human Rights and Political Science from the University of Bologna, and a Bachelor’s in Philosophy from La Sapienza University in Rome. She writes online for Psychology Today. Among her publications there are novels, poetry, and academic books on philosophy. On her YouTube channel she hosts philosophy lectures, webinars and interviews from scholars from all over the world.
